Bellingham Technical College is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees, appointed by the Governor. Each member serves a five-year term and must reside within the college's district boundaries.

The Board's duties include setting the college's strategic direction, establishing policy for the college, appointing the College President, awarding tenure, and approving the operating budgets.

		Steven W Koch Appointed to the BTC Board of Trustees in 1999. Mr. Koch served as the Board Chair 2004-2008, and was the Board Vice Chair 2001-03.

		Sonia Arévalo-Hayes Appointed to the BTC Board of Trustees in November 2003; currently serves as Board Vice Chair.

		James W. Cunningham Appointed to the BTC Board of Trustees in 1998. Mr. Cunningham was reappointed in June 2005 and served as the Board Chair, 2001 - 2003.

EDUCATION PROFILE: Attended Seattle University, B.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering and Oceanography, University of Washington.
