Other Funding Programs

BFET - Basic Food Employment & Training Program
    Assists recipients of Basic Food Benefits (also known as food stamps) with tuition, books, supplies/tools, child care, and some emergencies.

Off Campus Funding from Agencies
    Outside agencies provide funds for college expenses with eligibility targeting specific groups: Vocational Rehabilitation, Labor and Industry, Employment Security, Tribal Funding, NWC Scholarships through WorkSource.

Opportunity Grant
    Provides tuition, fees, books, and tools for up to 45 credits for students below 200% of the poverty level. Advising and support services.

Pathways to Health Careers
    Provides limited funding for tuition and books for students in health training programs. Academic support, employment and support services.

Scholarships
    Links to BTC and outside scholarship opportunities. Any student interested in applying for scholarships offered through BTC must complete and submit the standard scholarship application. Private scholarships are also available throughout the academic year. Applications are available through the Financial Aid Office.

Veteran's Affairs
    Includes veteran's assistance and the G.I. Bill. Veterans who wish to use their VA benefits for educational costs should contact the Veterans Coordinator in the Counseling & Career Center prior to enrollment to ensure benefits will be paid in a timely manner.

WorkFirst
    Assists with tuition and books for 1) low income parents or students in the TANF program, 2) low income working parents.

Worker Retraining
    Assists students who have been laid off, are underemployed, at-risk of lay-off, have lost the income of a significant other, or are a veteran. WRT can help with tuition, books, supplies/tools, child care, transportation, and offer work-study

WorkSource
    Assists individuals who are unemployed or in entry-level jobs. Eligible participants receive funding assistance and a variety of services.
