Typical Tasks Specific tasks typically required of a radiologic technologist include: Using computer terminals and setting the proper exposure techniques on the X-ray equipment; using and maintaining of X ray magnetic and computer driven equipment; assisting radiologists and other physicians in the delivery of health care services in medical imaging and other related departments; providing patient care in routine and special procedures including consideration for the physical and psychological needs of the patient and family; presenting case studies incorporating patient history and pathology; performing care tasks such as infection control techniques, vital signs, safety and transfer positioning, medical emergencies, barium studies, oxygen therapy and catheters; performing basic positioning techniques and imaging and processing production.
