The Center for the Advancement of Process Technology (CAPT) is an organization that supports and helps start Process Technology programs across the United States and Canada. CAPT is located at the College of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas.
Operating under a grant from the National Science Foundation CAPT develops course materials and mentors college administrators and instructors in new PTEC programs. CAPT also hosts conferences, classes and workshops that support faculty and administrators from technical and community colleges.
Bellingham Technical College structures its PTEC program after the model created by CAPT and utilizes a significant portion of their materials to guide the development of classes, evaluations and program content.
CAPT supports over thirty-five process technology programs and BTC works hand-in-hand with their organization to develop new coursework and review new and updated materials and literature. Both Richard Ortloff and Satpal Sidhu have presented at CAPT "Best Practices and Critical Issues" conferences in Houston, Texas.
