Potential Positions
Most program participants are currently employed in entry-level supervisory positions, largely in industrial settings. In addition, opportunities may exist in small businesses and retail, wholesale, distribution and service industries. Potential positions include department head, crew manager, industrial leadman, foreman, operations manager, plant manager, supervisor, office manager, and small business manager.

Typical Tasks
Specific tasks typically required of a business manager include:
  • Directly supervising and coordinating the activities of other workers in a variety of industrial and office settings;
  • Applying problem solving and decision-making techniques;
  • Employing principles of effective delegation; and
