Do I Need to Apply for Admission?

If you are not a degree or certificate seeking student, but want to register for any Bellingham Technical College course, you do not need to apply for admission. You may simply register for the course.

The following short certificate programs do not require applying for admission. Students seeking enrollment in these programs at BTC may select and register for a variety of courses (see Quarterly Schedule) intended for employment training, retraining, or upgrading their skills.

  • Bookkeeping Assistant
  • Business Management
  • Child Development
  • Clerical Assistant - General or Medical
  • Commercial Driving
  • Customer Service Management
  • Human Resource Management
  • Hypnotherapy
  • Leadership Management
  • Medical Coding
  • Medical Insurance Billing
  • Medical Records Clerk
  • Medical Transcriptionist
  • Nursing Assistant
  • Paraeducator
  • Personal Fitness Trainer
  • Project Management
  • Residential Home Inspection

For all other programs, students must apply for program admission and register in the degree or certificate program. Students may register as full-time or part-time in most programs based on personal preference, availability of space, and/or specific program offerings. Students should consult a BTC Counselor, Admissions Advisor and/or Faculty Advisor to assist in determining the best schedule to meet their needs.

Full-time students generally attend class six hours per day, five days per week. Students are registered in a program rather than in individual courses. Most courses within the program will be offered at various times throughout the program as scheduled by the instructor. In some programs, specific courses required for a degree or certificate may only be offered in certain quarters.
