Educators

Our Center is a valuable resource for other colleges in the State to expand Process and Control Technology education and training. We are ready to help instructors and administrators at colleges (as well as industry trainers) with the tools they need to start or expand their course or program offerings related to Process and Control Technology education and training. The Center provides the following services:

  • Information about process industry careers and assistance with promoting these career paths
  • Communication hub for processing industry workforce training needs and available resources
  • Sharing the skill standards for various entry level and supervisory positions
  • Sharing the resources developed at BTC for workforce training and curriculum for AAS Degree and Certificate programs in the areas of process manufacturing, instrumentation and control, and electro-mechanical technology
  • Help with assessing workforce needs for processing industries in different areas
  • Help in developing the lab resources to meet the training needs
  • Sharing the eLearning resources and training content developed at BTC to reach the underserved and underemployed populations
  • Providing opportunities for faculty development and student exchanges

The Center for the Advancement of Process Technology (CAPT) is a national organization that supports and helps start Process Technology programs across the United States and Canada.

The Industrial Instrumentation & Controls Technology Alliance (IICTA) is an organization of the Instrumentation & Controls Technology education providers and their business, industry, and community advisors cooperatively working toward their common goals.

The Center supports the network of technical and community colleges in Washington State in providing quality process and control technology training for their students and the best possible workforce for the processing industries in their area.
